The draft boards have been cleared, the luggage has been unpacked on new brands, and the talking is officially over. Tonight, the “New Era” ceases to be a boardroom pitch and starts becoming a physical reality. Since WrestleMania, we’ve seen The Rock seize control of the industry, William Regal build a fortress of “Resistance” on Raw, and a locker room divided between corporate loyalty and professional pride. But tonight, there is no podium, no draft picks, and no corporate protection. There is only the ring.
The Stakes at a Glance:
- The Main Event: Can the meteoric rise of Trick Williams culminate in the ultimate “Whoop” against The Final Boss?
- The World Titles: CM Punk defends the soul of Raw against the “Ring General” Gunther, while Rhea Ripley looks to silence the chaotic mist of Asuka.
- Grudge Matches: Cody Rhodes and Finn Balor fight for brand supremacy, while AJ Styles attempts to stop the explosive momentum of Bron Breakker.
- The Chaos: A Fatal 4-Way for the IC Title and a high-stakes Women’s Tag Team collision.
The pyros are loaded, the crowd is deafening, and the “High Table” is watching from the rafters. It’s time to find out who belongs at the top—and who was just a placeholder.
The lights are dimming. The opening video is rolling. Welcome to Backlash.

Our show gets underway with a BANG, and the World Heavyweight Championship on the line!

CM Punk (C) defeated Gunther to retain the World Heavyweight Championship
A gritty, high-stakes defense that proved Punk can still out-work and out-think the absolute best. Gunther looked like a monster in defeat, but CM Punk leaves St. Louis with the gold—and the respect of the “Sacred Mat.”

Next up we have an unexpected alliance looking to go all the way to championship gold…

Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss defeated ‘The Irresistible Forces’ (Nia Jax & Lash Legend) (C) to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
The Queen and the Goddess have reclaimed their thrones, ending Nia and Lash’s reign!

Next on the card is an increasingly personal battle, and tonight we find out who joins the winners CLUB, and fires the killer BULLET…

Cody Rhodes defeated Finn Balor
A test, but one passed by The American Nightmare with flying colours. Question is, what next for Cody on his road to redemption…?

Next up we have the next defence of the long-awaited IC title reign of Sheamus. Only this time, he has THREE challengers to cater to…

Sheamus (C) vs Je’Von Evans vs Shinsuke Nakamura vs Dominik Mysterio in a fatal- 4-way match for the Intercontinental Championship
This was absolute high-speed chaos from the opening bell. The “Celtic Warrior” Sheamus attempted to impose his will early, but the sheer speed of Je’Von Evans and the calculated strikes of Shinsuke Nakamura kept the champion off-balance. The St. Louis crowd was firmly behind the young rookie, Evans, who looked every bit like a future superstar as he flew through the air with a breathtaking corkscrew dive to the outside, taking out all three of his opponents. The match reached its fever pitch when Nakamura and Evans found themselves alone in the ring. The “King of Strong Style” looked to put the rookie away with a Kinshasa, but Evans countered with a stunning display of athleticism, catching Nakamura with a springboard kick that brought the arena to its feet. As the action spilled toward the corner, Dominik Mysterio—who had been playing the “cowardly opportunist” for most of the match—saw his opening. While the referee was focused on the brawl between Nakamura and Evans, Dominik grabbed a steel chair from under the ring. Sheamus charged in for a Brogue Kick, but Dom ducked, and the Champion’s leg went crashing into the ring post. Seizing the moment, Dom smashed the chair into the Champion’s back, effectively taking the “Celtic Warrior” out of the equation. Back in the ring, Je’Von Evans finally gained the upper hand over Nakamura, landing a massive top-rope maneuver. The rookie went for the cover, but “Dirty” Dom slid in like a snake. He tossed Evans into the ring post, head-first, and quickly hooked the leg of the dazed rookie. 1… 2… 3!
Winner and NEW Intercontinental Champion: Dominik Mysterio!

Next is a huge showdown between a legend on his way out, and a new star looking to takeover and destroy!

AJ Styles defeated Bron Breakker (with Paul Heyman)
A great back and forth match that showed that Breakker can hang with the very best, but The Phenomenal One ain’t done yet!

We then have a match between two of the biggest stars in the entire WWE!

Rhea Ripley (C) defeated Asuka (with Kairi Sane) to retain the Women’s World Championship
A high-quality match up, but in the end it was the champion who came out of this battle, once more MAMI is on top! AND STILL!

And finally… it is time for our MAIN EVENT!!!

After an amazing run in NXT, Trick Williams has made his way to SmackDown, and immediately gone for a shot at the very top of the industry! Can he WHOOP THAT tonight, and make all of his dreams come true by becoming the NEW WWE Champion?!

OR… Will The Final Boss prove who still runs the show?

The Rock (C) defeated Trick Williams to retain the WWE Championship
A valiant effort from Williams, but all his Tricks couldn’t match up to the might of The Final Boss! The Rock still runs over SmackDown, in and out of the ring!

The Backlash is over, but soon enough, it will be time to settle some BAD BLOOD!

Josh.
